Carolina Marine Terminal, Inc.
Carolina Marine Terminal, Inc. (CMT) is a privately owned, nonunion bulk marine cargo terminal with rail access located in Wilmington, North Carolina.
CMT was founded by Kevin G. Walker and Michael E. McCarley in 2005. As owners of Atlantic Diving and Marine Contractors Inc. (ADMCI) they constructed and maintained private, state, and military marine ports facilities and infrastructure since 1986. The vision to construct a private port, Carolina Marine Terminal, emerged from this experience. ADMCI served as the general contractor and project manager for the planning and construction of Carolina Marine Terminal. ADMCI performed much of the work with our own crews including land and marine pile driving, dock construction, concrete foundation installations and some of the equipment erection. Today, ADMCI continues to provide the resources for in house expansions and maintenance of the terminal facility. Many of the employees who maintain and operate the terminal were engaged in its construction providing a personal sense of ownership in their duties.
Our operations manager, Randy Bennett joined our team in 2005. Randy served over three decades as operations manager for the former Almont Shipping in Wilmington, North Carolina where he oversaw their stevedoring, cargo management and daily operations. As the industry required deeper drafts Almont passed into the journals of Wilmington’s history. CMT was fortunate to welcome Mr. Bennett infusing the new and modern terminal with invaluable experience and dedication to serving our customers. Drawing from his experience we have implemented rigid QC programs as good stewards of our customers’ products.
Today we are proud to host Koch Fertilizer International Ltd., Cargill Salt, Elementis Chromium, Inc. Resource Partners, Inc., YARA North America, The David J. Joseph Company/NUCOR, and Argos Cement among our valued clients.
